![I beg to differ. I’ve done it before. It’s hard, I’m not saying it isn’t, but it is doable. If you truly love someone so much that you want them in your life, you’ll learn how to be just friends with them. You’ll figure out how to love them and let them love everyone but you. You’ll be there for them when they need someone just because you love them. You’ll do for them, what they can’t do for themselves, and if you REALLY love them, madly love them, you’ll find someone else to love. Even if it feels like you know who is perfect for you and you don’t want anyone else, if you really love them, then you can still be friends with them. But, you HAVE to have discipline and willpower. If you have love, discipline, and willpower you’ll find you can do anything. You can even have them use your own fears against you to stop being your friend, disregard you for a year, learn that they were an asshole the entire time you were best friends, and apologize for it. I’ve done that, too. And, we became just friends, have been ever since, and a part of me loves him still, because I know he appreciates me. If he didn’t before, now he does. His attitude and behavior changed and he started saying phrases like, “I’ll miss you [when you graduate].” I believe we reached an impasse. Our friendship reached a point where we didn’t want to not be friends, we weren’t going to become the best friends we had been, and we aren’t going to grow romantically. We are just friends. I still love him, I always will. He feels the same. My awesome Radiohead tattoo I got this week. It is the two “Meeting People is Easy” figures underneath a tree from the artwork for Radioheads King of Limbs album. Stanley Donwood does the art for Radiohead and I love his work. This might be my favourite tattoo, but its hard to decide.
